With cutting-edge stealth technology and an advanced payload, the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber represents the dedication of the United States to fostering peace and security around the world and protecting the shared values and interests of allies.

Low-observable technology distinguishes the B-2 Spirit, making it one of the most viable aircraft ever made and enabling it to penetrate deep into enemy territory without escort fighters.

Every element of the B-2 was designed with stealth in mind, down to its special coatings and signature flying-wing design. Its unique design minimizes its acoustic, infrared, visual and radar signatures.

The B-2 Spirit's ability to penetrate air defenses and threaten highly protected assets bolsters the deterrence capabilities of the United States.

When combined with its advanced and lethal payload, the B-2 can destroy all manner of targets.

In more than 30 years of service of undertaking risky and critical missions, no B-2 has ever been lost in combat.

Unmatched range and payload

With a fuel capacity of more than 75,000kg, the B-2 has an unrefueled range of 9,600 km.

When accompanied by an aerial refueler like the KC-Stratotanker, the B-2's range can be extended significantly.

The B-2 Spirit holds the record for the longest air combat mission. In 2001, six B-2s were the first to enter Afghan airspace for a record setting 44-hour mission during Operation Enduring Freedom.

Operated by two pilots, the B-2 includes a space for pilots to rest, allowing its team to trade off and stay sharp for the duration of a mission.

The subsonic bomber boasts a wingspan of 52 meters and can carry payloads of more than 18,000kg.

It can drop conventional and nuclear weapons, including up to 80 230kg class Mk 82 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) Global Positioning System-guided bombs or 16 1,100kg B83 nuclear bombs.

It is compatible with a wide array of the US Air Force's advanced munitions such as the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, a bunker buster designed to destroy underground hardened targets and weapon caches.

The B-2 Spirit can also launch 16 AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles, a stealthy air-launched attack cruise missile equipped with 450kg armor-piercing warheads and ranges of up to 920km.
