After decades of wars, conflicts, and suffering, the people of Gaza aspire to build their future and lead the Strip toward stability.

Palestinian and Lebanese analysts said that Gazans see the ceasefire that went into effect on October 10, as an opportunity to cement their patriotism and achieve lasting peace.

Gaza's patriotism will enable its residents to take responsibility for leading the Strip to prosperity and achieving their civil rights, they said.

Achieving peace

"The people of Gaza are key pillars of Palestinian patriotism, which seeks to establish a peaceful state in accordance with UN resolutions," director of the Tatweer Center for Strategic Studies and Human Development and a Palestinian researcher Hisham Debsi told Citadel.

"There are no alternatives to peace for the Palestinians of Gaza to express their free will," he added.

President Donald Trump's initiative is crucial for achieving peace, which will lead to the recognition of the civil rights of Gazans and empower them to build a safer and brighter future for themselves, he added.

Gazans have the opportunity, Debsi said, for active community participation to rebuild essential assets like infrastructure, schools, and hospitals.

"This participation will enable the residents to access all services in a way that preserves their human dignity, simultaneously strengthening their patriotism and sense of belonging, and achieving economic prosperity and sustainable development," Debsi said.

Reviving Gaza

The war in Gaza, initiated by the Hamas leadership, had catastrophic human, infrastructural, and service consequences, Lebanese Center for Research and Consulting director Hassan Qutb said.

"These events exhausted the population but ultimately increased their patriotism and attachment to their land, strengthening their understanding of their revivalist role," he told Citadel.

"Therefore, US President Donald Trump's initiative, with its twenty points, is an opportunity that Palestinians, especially the residents of Gaza, must seize," he added.

This opportunity, he said, is key to defining the Strip's future,"enabling Gazans to break the cycle of violence, launch reconstruction, remain on their land, and engage in the two-state solution process."

Qutb said that the residents of Gaza must "cooperate with the international community, international institutions, and civil society organizations to revitalize the work of official institutions and civil society sectors."

"The establishment of peace in Gaza requires fundamental steps, beginning with revitalizing the role of Gazan citizens in portraying the Strip as free from terrorism, building institutions, services, and the economy," he said.

"The patriotism of the Gazans is certain to help them overcome the ravages of war and achieve the prosperous future they deserve," Qutb said.
