Commitment to reconstruction and dignity
Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the people of Gaza amid ongoing regional challenges.
The Kingdom also reiterated its commitment to achieving a just and lasting resolution to their cause during a UN Security Council session on the Middle East.
Dr. Abdulaziz Alwasil, the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the UN, said Saudi Arabia remains steadfast in advocating for the rights and dignity of the people of Gaza.
He emphasized the urgent need to rebuild the territory and empower families to live securely after years of destruction and displacement.
Alwasil praised the growing number of countries that have formally recognized the State of Palestine, saying such actions strengthen the international community’s collective commitment to peace and justice.
He also welcomed recent outcomes from the UN General Assembly in New York that support progress toward statehood.
Support for mediation and stability
He commended the mediation efforts led by US President Donald Trump, alongside Qatar, Egypt and Turkiye, to establish and implement a cease-fire in Gaza.
These efforts, he said, represent a crucial step toward restoring stability and building the foundation for long-term peace in the region.
Saudi Arabia, he noted, supports all diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives that protect civilians and enable reconstruction.
Call for action and lasting peace
The Kingdom, he said, will continue to advocate for the people of Gaza to live with dignity, security and self-determination.
Alwasil reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s principled stance that the Palestinian cause remains central to regional stability and global peace.
He called on member states to move beyond expressions of concern and take tangible steps that uphold international law and human rights for the people of Gaza.
